I keep hearing lots of good things about Prodisc.
Just wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with them?
I plan to order a bunch but I just thought I would see what kind of luck people are having with them.
    Thanks

No problems with this media. I have a Plextor 708, and only about one bad burn per 50!

I have the Pioneer 107 firmware v1.13 , and I have burned over 400 Prodisc03, with no coasters or playback issues. I have used both the printable version and the matte version.
I also purchase them from www.supermediastore.com.

  4. Did you have a look at the media guide to the left ?

Don't forget writing to a disc is only the beginning - make sure it will be read back by your intended target device(s) before buying out the local warehouse in case you find the cross platform compatibility is poor.

Saying that, Prodisc media works in my fussy Sony standalone, so you will probably be alright...

  5. Not another Prodisc thread

People just look at the threads on this page alone....One thread is what 8 pages long...That should keep you read for awhile

    BTW, yeah, I like

I bought a 50 pack and had a lot of trouble with my NEC ND-1300A but found that burning at 2x seemed to work OK but I bought the 4x matte top DVD-R blanks.

Another person (in that other LONG thread that stiltman mentions) had luck using a NEC ND-1300A so I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what but I sure won't be buying them again.

    RIMA.COM has Taiyo Yuden 4x DVD-R discs for $60 per 50 pack or $110.00 per 100 pack.

That about the best media out there now.

The Maxell 4x DVD-R discs are also really good and sometimes you can find 50 packs on-line for about the same i.e., $60

After tracking all my bad burns for 2 months, not a whole lots, it seems the PRODISC ones were simply hardware related. Updating to the newest firmwares on my drive and changing out motherboards seems to have fixed it. I'll know in 2 more month if the ratio has changed. I know my bad MCC were from hardware errors.

Made some big changes to my hardware this weekend.

Pagecomputers has the IJP's for $48/50 +S&H, and for some reason, shopperwiz is no longer charging me shipping charges, but they are $55/50. If you're after silver tops, and willing to pay that much money, get the TYs, there isn't that much of a price difference, but there is a small quality difference in KProbe tests. For IJP, I don't like the TY, small surface, and doesn't produce colors as good as the Maxells.

Prodisc is actually a pretty good media considering the price. But like FulciLives, you need to make sure your burner likes the media too. My Toshiba loves these things, my A05s do pretty decent with them, but not nearly as well as the Toshiba. It's the opposite with Verbatims, Toshiba burns skippers, and the A05s are near perfect

My Plex loves the inkjet printable Prodisc. Have burned 14 of 50 so far with no coasters and the print quality is very good. Rima.com has these on sale, 30.00 for 50 or 48.00 for 100.00, thats a h------ deal.
    Thank You,

  10. Just a quick report here on my first Prodisc experience. After reading the threads here, I decided to give them a shot. I couldn't pass up the price of 39 cents each delivered. Anyway, I'm pretty amazed so far. I've been through about 40 so far and I run all sorts of test on them and they seem to be very good qualty. I've run speed tests and error tests, etc. No problems yet burning at 4x on my Pioneer 106.
