so i have a ATI Rage Fury 32Mb AGP graphic card with a composite and S-video out connector. this is on my turn-key spruce system, and i want to upgrade to a video card with a component out (or equivilant), but not consumer component, preferrably with a BNC out.

any help in the right direction would be gretly appreciated.

just in case it mattered, my system specs are:
windows NT 4.0 (service pack 6)
    512 megs of ram
    pentium 3

    TIA

A component output on a video card?

What is this going to accomplish, since the image output by the video card will bear little resemblance to the image played by the DVD player, anyway?

Check radio shack or similar vendor for simple adaptor to convert rca to bnc, AFIK, it is only changeing connector type.

Test on current card that it does what you want.
Buy whichever higher end card you want that has the appropriate output

hey iantri, thanks for the response, and to answer your question:
what i wish to accomplish is emulated dvd playback from my box to my sony PVM monitor. since at the moment i emulate back to my clients an
s-video signal, i feel i'm "cheating" them not showing their projects in component.

as far as bearing little resemblance of the image, i disagree. i feel (now this is just theory, and has been backed by a few engineeers) that taking my component out, and connectiong to my monitors component in, will produce an almost flawless video, dare i say, even as good as the source.

but like i said, this is all just theory, but "it can't hurt to try".

thanks again iantri for your response![/quote]

snafu099, thanks for your reply as well.

i thought about the adaptor type and they do exist. however, since i will still be coming s-video out, using an adapter to go to BNC, and from there, i can connect my BNC cables (out to in), the signal would still be s-video, and that's what i dont want - but good idea, it took me a while to even consider that! unfortunately, the closest converter that i can get that gives the results i want is an sdi to component converter, and my box cant handle an sdi card

anyway, once again, thank you for your reply
