would this decrease the quality

so far i have just use dvdcopy2 to copy dvds. the only problem i have with this is that i can't seem to find the option where i can make 2 or more copies. i can only make a 1:1 copy. this is very time consuming where it create an image and buring that image to make only 1 copy. i tried this other method yesterday after reading it somewhere. i find out that i can use tmpgencdvd author to extract a mpeg from the dvd and save it on my comp. since i have the mpeg i can simply make as many copies as i want. i have a few questions to ask you guys.

is this a good method to make more than 1 copy?
does the quality decreases?
this is a tv episode.
if i was to cut out the commercial with tmpgdvdauthor will the quality decreases?

You could try usingDVD Decrypter (free software - see tools to your left) to extract the copy to the hard drive as an ISO, then use it again to burn the ISO to a new disk. You will get an exact copy, and with a lot less screwing around.

Ok first I assume this is not a copy protected disk, if it is, then Tmpgenc DVD author does not work. If not protected you can use any method you want really to copy it. And also quality will not change (normally) unless you either shrink it like to fit more on a disk or onto a smaller disk, or re-encode it for some reason. Just cutting parts out does not change anything except remove those parts, adding menus chapters ect.. only does that, no change to the source or final output quality!

Some programs do not behave well and do things they should not, in that case anything could happen, but the above it true if your using a good program.

i could just use nero right? all it have is a audio and video folder.

Nero or any of the diskcopy programs out there. You must have received Nero or Roxio with your Burner... they will make a 1:1 copy and the first will be identical to the one millionth. (direct copies of course)
