  1. Hello all, I am using DVD decrypter to rip a single anime episode. I then use Subrip for subs and save in an .srt format to import into VirtualDubMod.

I can get the audio and video to encode to an .AVI XViD file and it works great. When I try to use the .srt in the video file the timing is completely off. It keeps the time of the sub on the entire disc, not just for that segment.

i.e. My anime episode is only 22 mins long but the beginning of the .srt file starts at about 2 hours and 45 seconds into the disc.

Please let me know a way I can fix these subs using the tools mentioned -- THANK YOU!

easy method, use DVDshrink to select your single episode with the subs and output to file. this will alter the timings of the subs so subrip will have the right numbers

  3. Awesome! I'll give it a try. Is there any way to get DVD Decrypter or another program to reset the subtitle time settings?

not that i know of, it -may- be possible to rip a single chapter in IFO mode and rebuild the IFO's with ifoedit, but this is slow and problematic anyway.

The subs thing had been annoying me, but now with version 3.17 of shrink it's no problem. i regularly split movies to two discs using shrink and the subs always work perfectly on both discs.

  5. Smartripper looks like it might work for me but everytime I go to rip the program either locks up or gets 2% done and lock up. I don't have any problem playing the DVD or using DVD Decrypter so something in Smartripper is screwed.
