we got a DVD camcorder and we want to edit the footage. But the file that it comes in off the DVD, is .VRO. We got it converted to .mpg using TMPGEnc, but the quality isn't that great. TMPGEnc was just a demo though. Anyway now were trying to load it in a pinnacle studio video editing, but there isn't any sound when its loaded. But when you watch the file in windows, theres sound. Once we got it all in, we wanted to watch it, but it wont play. its only a trial, does that anything to do with it? Anyway, my real questions are... How do I get better quality from .VRO to .mpg(step by step would be great cause i dont know much about these programs)?...Why wont it play in pinnacle?...Why is there no sound?...and is there any other really cheap editing programs that i can use that will do the trick, just simple video effects?, were just making a skate video, nothing too fancy

Use tmpgenc dvd author. It does not do anything to the video and you can do basic editing.
