  1. Hey,

    I'm trying to convert an XviD to DVD. Now i am certainly not a noob, but this one particular file just keeps screwing up.

    Source file: 23,976 fps XviD
    Target: 25 fps MPEG-2
    Using: TMPGEnc Plus

    First, i 've converted the file to 25 fps with VDubMOD.
    Then, i've tried converting it with TMPGEnc as usual, but the output file keeps 'stuttering' (don't exactly know how this behaviour is called :P ).

    I've tried these four settings for the source video tab, but no luck:
    Non-interlace with bottom field first;
    Non-interlace with top field first;
    Interlace with bottom field first;
    Interlace with top field first.

    Note that both 'interlace' option deliver a really f*cked-up output, so i'm pretty sure the source is not interlaced

    Also tried increasing the Motion search precision, no luck there either.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    to do the conversion properly you need to use AVISynth. Otherwise you will never get a smooth frame rate conversion. See here this thread has tons of great scripts.
