  1. Hi all -
I have recently got a dvd that I'm am trying to copy. Some of the details are.
Plays great on my dvd player on mac. Will NOT play on any standalone dvd player, including son's ps2. I can see picture on these standalone players, but it looks like it's continously scrolling with horizontal lines.

I then tried DVD Backup to remove macrovision and prepare it for DVD2oneX. No problems here.
It's when I get to DVD2oneX and select the files to burn, there seems to be alot extra blank chapters. I'm wanting to do a full movie copy so I select that option, and about 3% into it I recieve the following error messages. I have posted pictures of error messages and others at:
    http://homepage.mac.com/bbrelsford/PhotoAlbum44.html
    Application quits.

So, I thought what the heck, I tried Apples DVD player and opened files created with DVD Backup and yes everything works, on mac that is.
So I burned dvd in Toast Titanium but still doesn't work and any standalone dvd players. I have burned numerous of backups in past, so I know it's not a new issue with software. I'm almost certain something is up with this particular dvd.

Would it help to know what program created this disc? I could ask person I got it from who by the way is in Canada. He also stated disc originated in UK. I just think it's puzzling that it works fine in apple dvd player and nothing else. It's definitely dvd-r, I checked.

If anyone would care to help, I'd be happy to answer any questions or anything that might have left out. Heck, I'd be willing to send these two dvds to anyone who could make it playable in a standalone dvd player.
    My email bbrelsford@mac.com

Sorry about the length post, but I wanted to get all the details in.
Remember, I have photos of error screens posted at:

    Thanks,
    Brian

  3. Mac the Ripper works fine. I actually tried that.

I get this error message only in dvd2onex.
Could this be a PAL disc issue?

    Thanks for reply, Galactica!
