Hi Guys. Wondering if any of you R200 owners have printed any DVDs using the ProDisc inkjet printable brand. I have and am having a difficult time getting the color to come out right. It is either too dark or too light regardless of what I set the software settings on. If anyone has had good luck with theirs would you please share your print settings with me. Thank you for much for your help.
    Thank You,

  3. I have printed on about 30 ProDisc IPA with my Epson R200 and they all came out perfectly!
Did you do print-head clean up, aligment...?
Are your ink-cartridges original or refill ones ?
I don't have the printer manual with me right now but it should have a trouble-shooting section in there.

World thank you for the reply. Yes heads are clean, did an alignment, cartridges are the original Epson cartridges which came with printer and are two thirds full.
    Thank You,

  5. I've printed a bunch of ProDisc on the Epson R200 and really haven't had much problems. The settings I used are default print colour correction, but I set the colour management in the printer driver to ICM instead of the default which is Epson Vivid. If you're still not getting the colours to come out correctly I'd check the discs and make sure you have the inkjet printable ones and not the thermal printable ones, if that doesn't work maybe your monitor's not calibrated correctly hence what you see on the screen isn't what comes out of the printer.

  6. I'm just curious about your comment LeeBear, what ICM file do you use? Just recently I've started experienceing too much blue in my disc prints, I wonder if this will help.

check out another thread that's around - it seems to be a problem when you're low on black ink... it starts using more blue...

The printer is using the standard default colour profile of the printer which is EE251__1, but for ICM to work properly your monitor also have to be calibrated with a proper profile. There's various programs you can use to create the monitor profile. Just don't use any of the default profiles (ie. sRGB) since they're hardly ever correct and even if the monitor did come with colour profiles in it's drivers it usually still needs to be tweaked cause everyone's lighting conditions are different. You can see (and add) what profile your monitor is using by going into display properties.
