At the moment I am using DVD Decrypter to get individual Simpsons episodes from a DVD (to DivX for my home media server), but the way I am doing it seems long winded and boring:

    1) I create, say, six empty folders

    2) I have to manually select each 23-odd minute PGC and rip to each folder

Is there any way or alternative program to get the computer to do this automatically?

    Hello,
You could rip the whole disc to the harddrive. Then with tmpgenc dvd author open the vobs and select the individual episodes. You should be able to include the chapter information. This might be quicker than the individual route. Give it a try if you have tda.

    Hello,
Scratch what I just wrote. I forgot you were converting to divx. Though, now that I thought of it you could still rip the whole disc. Don't many divx converters read straight from vobs now? Well, just fool around with different approaches until one is quicker for you.

Nope, doesn't work. You either get it half way through an episode, or you don't get any audio.

You could rip to ISO, mount it, and then run DoitFast4u. It will rip each PGC separately and demux the audio + subs, and run dvd2avi on each video track and then create an Avisynth script for you, if you care to use it. Basically it does all of the manual work necessary to prepare for encoding.

It will rip all PGC from the titleset to the same directory though. If this bothers you then you could of course just move them elsewhere.

Sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately DoitFast4u website seems to be down.
