Not sure where else to put this question. I have a few avi movies I have downloaded and they all play fine (one I had to resync the audio) on various players. They are in both 23.9 and 25 fps with various resolutions.
My laptop (Toshiba, details on profile) has an RCA composite output. On a couple of movies, everything on the monitor screen is displayed but the video itself does not appear on the TV screen within the player (while it can be seen on the laptop). I have tried setting my video card to both NTSC and PAL TV, I have also tried it on both a PAL and a Multisystem TV. The one avi that does play is an NTSC and seems to play regardless of my video card setting. So I am confused as to where the problem lies, is it the files or my laptop settings or something else? Any suggestions?
