I don't know about you guys but I have found that my DVD-+Rs are very "fragile" in that my players are very fussy about the slightest scratch/fingerprint/dust particle. Are DL DVD recordable disks going to be as robust as we need them to be or are we going to have to wear surgical gloves in clean room conditions to be able to use them. You "early adopters" let us all know how you are getting on with them...![]()

So far I have not had a problem at all. I dropped a DL disc and stratched it some and it had some dust on it, I tried it out on my Denon 910 and it worked just fine.

From what I read only a few dvd players read DL home written disks. Pressed DL dvds that you get at the store are another matter & work on all players.

i think every media goes through this phase of being very sensitive until more durable media - and more able readers - are developed. you can't believe what cd-r's i have that are still readable.. :P
With all due respect... and there is respect... -
I figure even if PLAYERS are finnicky, my readers are quite good and if worst comes to worst, I can get the disc in a good enough shape for the PC to read it and just recopy it.
But specifically with 2L discs, I"m not bothering for another year minimum.
