I'm a newbie at DVD recorders and own a Pioneer 210 which i've read the manual but can't figure out how to assigned chapter breaks to the recorded DVD. Aren't DVDs supposed to be assigned chapter breaks so you can jump directly to a scene of your choice. Please enlighten. Thank you.

WHat software are you attempting to use?
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
I was thinking more like transferring footage from either camcorder or VHS into the recorder. But since you brought up the subject on software, what about idvd or FCE.

Your chapter point are done in whatever DVD authoring program you choose to use. Usually the programs that come with a burner are very basic, they may or may not suite your DVD authoring needs. I like DVDlab. It will accept .ac3 sound files and it pretty easy to use. The 210 is a table top recorder not a DVD burner in a computer correct. I don't have experience with tabletop recorders, I wouldn't think you would be able to set chapter points. You are recording to DVD not authoring a DVD.
