  1. i have some video i taped from my TV tuner a little while ago, its a 2 and half hour hockey game. the file is saved in DivXwhen the game starts, the audio and video are perfecty in sync, but when i check at the end, the audio is 5 seconds earlier than the video and the last 5 seconds of video play with no audio. is there a way for me to edit it so it is in sync? i tried some with virtual dub, but it is difficult as the audio/video difference is changing (increasing). thanks.

Goldwave will take the audio and stretch it to fit, use the time warp function. Vdub to join the audio and video back up.

    Not that I'm aware.

Vegas Video, Soung Forge, Maven3d, priemere, Edius, and just about any other video editing app.

It's rather easy to achieve this is Vegas. Load your AVI or MPG onto the time line, and you stretch the audio to match the length of the video. Sound Forge (and Maven) allow you correct sync problems that can't be corrected by a simple time stretch. Like if at 00:45:00 its 350ms out, 1:15:00 it's 225ms out, then at 1:54:00 its 450ms out.

Load your AVI or MPG into the program. You can zoom in and choose the "pencil" tool to edit. This is for extreme precise editing though.

If you only need simple editing, Vegas should be more than enough. There is a free demo available, and the $99 Screen Blast Movie Studio (Vegas lite).
