I have read through most of this forum trying to find the blasted problem I am currently having with my system. When I try and decrypt a DVD it is taking almost 1 hour to do. I have recently reformated my system (prior to the format it was taking about 10 mins).

The quickest transfer rate I can get is 1.6x. According to http://www.cdspeed2000.com/go.php3?link=dvdresults.php3 I should be getting 11.53x with my DVDRom (AOpen 1648).

I have uninstalled DVDDecrypter and reinstalled it with no success. I am also having a similar problem with DVDShrink. The deep analysis is taking in the upward of 1 hour to complete when previously is was taking 20 to 25 minutes.

Any ideas that anyone might have to help would be greatly appreciated.

One possible reason is that your DVD drive might in PIO mode instead of DMA. Here's what you can do (I'm assuming you're using Windows):
    1) Right click on "My computer" and click "Properties"
    2) click to the "Hardware" tab
    3) click on the "Device Manager" button
    4) Look for "IDE controller"
    5) click on the "+"
    6) You should see Primary IDE Channel and Secondary IDE Channel
    7) Right click on them and click "Properties"
    8. click on "Advanced Tab" and see if you can choose DMA or DMA when available.

go to the DVD to DVDR forum and read the sticky at the top entitled "DVD Ripping Speed Tips".
    If in doubt, Google it.
