  1. I ripped one DVD (The Dark Side of the Moon).
Changed the subtitle to on (Portuguese).
Burned (with Nero 6) a new DVD.
When I try to play the DVD I burned with PowerDVD I got this message:

    Error Code 89020003
The DVD disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation.
Please, clean the surface of the disc if possible.

But, playing in my standalone DVD Philips 615 I had no problem.

After that, I backed up the DVD (damaged?) to my HD. Play it with PowerDVD with no problems (I mean I played from my HD).

    What could be happening?

    Thanks

I have backed up The Dark Side of the Moon DVD without any problems. I haven't tried PowerDVD but it plays fine on WinDVD. I used DVDShrink and NERO 6 to burn. Sounds like it might be a media issue. Try the same disc at a slower speed or another type of media and see if PowerDVD likes that one better.

If you are using powerdvd 4 then its a known problem, upgrading to powerdvd 5 or a newer version of powerdvd 4 will fix it.

  4. Hi,

You were right. I upgraded to PowerDVD 5 and that runs well.
    Thanks to all.

I upgraded to PowerDVD 5 and didn't like it so I downgraded back to 4

I use it for general playback but for testing backups I use the free Mark's Tray DVD player as PowerDVD can play non compliant DVD's
