I'm anxious to get my hands on this software, but I have a question or two.

Apparently, it cannot encode audio to DD or DTS. The French review seems to suggest that if you encode the audio yourself, first, VideoPack can use that. Does anyone know for sure?

"Without directly to be able to handle files audio Digital Dolby or DTS, Videopack can use files DVD VOB already create containing this type of tracks audio."

The original French: (Sans pouvoir directement manipuler des fichiers audio Dolby Digital ou DTS, VideoPack peut utiliser des fichiers DVD VOB déjà crées contenant ce type de pistes audio.)

If so, what tools are available for this?

One last question: Where can we look for the best price on this software (Roxio sells it for $499)?

Try looking on those 'price grabbing/watching' websites for looking for the best price for VideoPack 5.0
You can try pricwatch.com or pricegrabber.com (there's more of them, but i forgot them =| )

    I'm not going away.
    I WILL purchase this software.
However, I've learned from Symantic that the authoring company is rarely the one with the best price.

    Patience is sooo over rated.

I called Roxio and was told that VP5 will NOT be available anywhere else. In fact, they weren't even going to release it in the US at first.

So I ordered it for $499.

I'll report on it within a month.

Anyone got a bridge they want to sell?

I only have tried the VCD section of it.
It seems to work ok, trying to createe menu system, seems very hard.
