  1. Hello,

I am learning to rip Dvds to Vcds. I use smart ripper and then I use Flask. What ive noticed is that if I only do these two steps, Nero and Easy Cd Creator will not accept the file. I have to add a 3rd step, encoding with Tmpge for it to burn. Even after that step Nero will not accept it but easy cd creator 5 will. Am I doing something wrong in Flask? I was under the impression that I only needed to encode in Flask in order to burn. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

  2. You need to use an mpeg encoder plug-in in Flask to encode to VCD compliant MPEG-1.

You can use the included bbMPEG plug-in, but I strongly suggest you try the Panasonic MPEG encoder plug-in. It is both faster and has better quality.

Make sure you load the correct template/setting in the output plugin.

    Regards.

  3. Thank you for the reply. I do have the panasonic plug in but it is for Adobe, so I guess I would need a different one? My next question is that when I choose VCD NTSC the frame size is 352 x 288. My understanding was that for that setting, the frame size needed to be 352x240. Should I change it to 240 or leave it as is? Thanks again.

  4. you shuld change it to 240 cuze thats for PAL settings and as for the Panasonic plugin just rename it to panasonicplugin.cm.flask and if u still want to use it with adobe just copy and paste okay

  5. Thanks for the reply. I still can not get the panasonic plugin to show up in flask. I renamed it as stated about and then pasted it in to all the flask folders but when I open the flask program, I see nowhere it will let me choose it. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

  10. Read the readme files that come with Flask. It details what to do in detail.

  13. I have tried Panasonic plug in 2.1 and Cinema Craft Encoder plug in and followed the instructions in the read me file perfectly but the plugins will just not show up when I open Flask. I guess thats the end of the road on this one until someone comes up with something new. Thanks for all the good tries.

  14. Firstly, completely uninstall Flask (delete the folder) and reinstall it. While you're at it, make sure you get "FlaskMPEG v0.6 prev1.1 subtitled fixed" version (you can get it from doom9's site).

    Then try again.

The Panasonic MPEG encoder plugin definitely works if installed correctly.

  15. Thanks again for the try but it still wont work. I think I have given up and will just use bbmpeg. Ive tried many different versions of Flask and still the same results. The plug ins panasonic and cce do not show up anywhere. Maybe its because Im using the beta version of XP. If anyone else has any more ideas I would appreciate them. Thanks again.
