  1. i just converted my 700mb movie to mpeg2 format and everything went fine. The movie itself is 90min but somehow the converted file turned out to be over 3 hours. After the movie ends, theres just a black screen playing the whole time. How do i cut the video so the black screeen doesnt play after the movie?

    Depending on your authoring program, you may be able to cut it at that stage. TMPGEnc DVD Author will do that.

    I would check the middle and end of the file and make sure that the audio is in sync.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. well somehow the audio isnt there. Theres no sound the whole lenght of the video. From what i understand, i must now extract the audio from the Original video and put it inside the authored folder? is that correct? which format do i need ? ac3 mp3 mpeg1? Anyone know of a simple tool to use to extract audio .

    I think you might have suffered the curse of VBR audio. Is your source AVI ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    DivX = AVI.

    I know what the problem is. It would have helped if you had have answered the is question when I first asked it

    Open your video in VirtualDub. It will probably give you a warning about VBR audio being detected - this is OK. Go to audio > Full Processing then go to AUdio > Compression and make sure that No COmpression (PCM) is selected on the left side. Go to File > Save as WAV and this will save the audio as an umcompressed WAV file. Once this is done, go back to TMPGEnc and use your AVI as the video source, and forcibly add this WAV as your audio source.

    Problem solved

    You might want to only encode 1 min or so of the final product just to prove that it will have audio and to check that everything is in sync.
    If in doubt, Google it.
