    hi,

    Can someone suggest cheap(under $50) soundcard that has optical input?

    I was looking at specs of different soundcards. From which, I found that Gainward's 7.1 card and Chaintech's AV-710 card has written in specs that they have SPDIF IN/OUT. Does anyone know if those two cards can take optical input?

    Look in e-bay for a creative card bundled with a Live drive. Just remeber that there are two version of the live drive. The original one without TOS link (optical) and the newer one with optical and line in. Please be aware that some people do not like old Creative sound cards.
