  1. Hi,

I've been trying to turn the MOV trailers for Episode 2 into MPEGS for writing to VCD so that I can watch them on my DVD player but I'm having multiple problems. I've been using TMPGEnc (with the QT plug-in) but everytime I try and convert it I get a corrupt MPEG version. I have MPEG versions of the trailers that I've downloaded from other sites but they seem to be the wrong size for the writer I'm using and I end up with perfect audio but the trailer appears quite small in the top right-hand corner of my TV screen. I'm never attempted to do anything like this before so if you reply please appreciate that I'm a VCD virgin.

    Many Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,

I've been using TMPGEnc Version 2.01.30.116 with QTReader.vfp dropped in the folder but the versions I've made have no sound and the video is always corrupted with small blocky graphics. Am I missing some software? What am I doing wrong? Is there anyway that I could get a copy of the version you've done? Help me, wings123, you're my only hope !!!

  4. First, is your MOV from Apple.com? If Yes, i suppose it's the medium size (320) version, right? Coz only QT-Pro owners are allowed to view the large size (480) version. If, however, yours is a large size, pls let me know where to get it.

If you have MOV of the trailer, suggest to convert it to MPEG yourself instead of using others' MPEG. See my earlier post elsewhere for how to do it -- https://www.videohelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=65310&forum=3

If you have no sound in your converted mov file, it could be because of copy protection. Some quicktime files have a conversion block which mutes the video when it is converted in any way. I tried it with the Jurassic Park III trailer some months back and had no success.

    Hope this helps

Oh and Tarty, the quicktime movie is available on kazaa file sharing http://www.kazaa.com.

  6. You can use Total Recorder to record a wav file from the MOV file, and Rad Video Tools to generate an avi (I use the huffyuv codec to keep file sizes down).

Then the the avi as video source and the wav as audio source to encode your MPEG. MOV2AVI is another good source to make the video file, if the audio is encoded using Total Recorder is the only way I know of to generate an audio file.
