  1. Hi, I used to edit DVD tapes with iMovie, but I am about to start editing on a PC, but I am not sure what program is best.

I will be editing short movies and then converting them to DVD.

Also, is Final Cut availabla on PC, I've heard this is the best DV Editing program around.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  2. Try ULead VideoStudio 8.

It's easy to use and very productive.

The result is OK considering its speed.

I've been using Vegas 5 and DVD Architect 2. I find that they work really well. If you get a chance, give them a try.

because you don;t konw how to use it ??? fuckers

i love it, and use it a lot, my favorite.

this is more basic, if you want to go more deep, then choose Ulead MediaStudio, or Adobe Premiere.

but for beginning, that is the best

It really does depend on how prepared you are for the learning curve and how deep you are prepared to dig into your pockets.

One poster suggested Ulead Video Studio, which is OK but perhaps a bit limited but you will get results. I must admit that I havnt really used Ulead products since Media Studio 5 so things might have shanged a lot. Media Studio is different to Video Studio.

Adobe Premiere Pro or Vegas 4 (or 5) provide you with an excellent editing suite. I prefer Premiere because its trimming process is much more accurate than Vegas.

The two drawbacks on Premiere and Vegas is price, and they appear daunting when you load them up. But if you keep focused and dont stray into all the options they are quite easy and when you get used to them, they are so thorough the results are very good.

Both include MPEG encoders which produce great results.

    Have fun.
