  1. I think I have most of it narrowed down but dont know where the problem is. All my backups work but when authoring new DVDs I always have a problem. The procedure I use is as follows.

scan for bad frames with virtualdub mp3
demux audio or extract or convert using virtualdubmod depending on the case.
    convert to ac3 using ffmpeggui
    fix ac3 file using bslice
reencode video with TMPGenc to DVD compliant (NTSC) 720x480, 29.97 fps.
sync subtitles srt file with subtitle workshop
    convert subtitles with srt2sup 30fps
    reauthor everything with rejig
burn with nero burnig rom using UDF/ISo mode

everything seems to work fine but either at some point my video freezes in the standalone or at some point the subtitles dissapear, have to fix via the standalone either by pressing ffward once or stop then play.

I dont think the problem is media realted because I usually burn authored dvds in a DVD-RW to first test and then on DVD-R media. Problems occur on both my standalones and in both disks at same spots so it seems that is the authoring process or maybe the srt2sup output, besides as i mentioned before all backups run well. Does anyone knows another program that will let me author a DVD with subtitles in an easy way, that is not rejig or Ifoedit?? No need for

try author with another tool like dvdauthorgui(yes, it supports selectable subs). instead of rejig and ifoedit and rejig.

  3. otheres a couple of guidesthat actually tell you how to remove the bad frames, if found.

By the way do you guys think it could be nero the one that gives me problems???? But if so, in the exact place in different media brands???.
