Check out this link. Notive how the cakebox is. The only discs I've seen with cakeboxes like that are Taiyo Yudens. Anyone know anything about this media or maybe if they are indeed Taiyo Yudens?

ahahah lol! i've seen TDK 4X DVD+Rs in that same exact case and they were CMC!

I think my friend ordered them from costco or something.

Moral: dont judge a disc by its spindle! That crap about black and grey bottomed Memorex spindles being CMC vs RICOH is false too!

hope u didnt buy these for that reason!

no, i didn't buy them. But I thought they might be TYs b/c they had "the spindle". Yeah I bet they're CMCs or something since that guy said he's seen them come in spindles like that. They have no reviews, and if they were TYs, people would probably know about it. Oh well, man i really need to find some TY DVD-Rs, I saw some +Rs on Newegg, but I prefer -R. ANyone know where i can get some?

Hate to burst your bubble but AFAIK TY cases should look like this.

    http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product_Code=1674-100

You twist to take the top off, then just snap it back on because of the way the case is made. Exactly like what Fuji likes to use for their cases in the US.

The one in question does not look like any TYs I've ever had.

  10. the only case/cakebox I have like that came with those cheap OfficeMax StarLogic 1X DVD-R's that were $10 for 50 a several months ago, I think most people said they were Princo.

Well they look exactly the same to me except the TYs have a black bottem and the ones i posted have a white bottem. Maybe its hard to tell by just looking at a pic online but I thought they looked like this TY spindle of FUjifilm made in Japan CD-Rs I have on my desk here. Oh well, but in any case thanks for the link to those Taiyo Yudens, soon as I get some money I think I'll order some off of that site.
