Does anyone remember COLONIZATION?

Colonization was sorta the sequal to Sid Meier's Civilization PC game. It was published by Mircropose I believe. I don't think Colonization ever got the acclaim or success that Civilization did but I think it was just as good of a game if not better.

I remember I got that game as a present in 1993 or 94 and playing it for many years. I must have spent week hours total on it. The mechanics of the game were great, so simple yet so fair and the graphics were very pretty. Man I loved that game- I think it was about as close I have ever seen of a "perfect game". I wish they made a Colonization II.

I played Colonization about a year ago on a 386 upstate and the magic hit me immedietly. But since then, I have not played it, nor do I have the game floppies any longer.

Does anyone know if the game has become free liscense and can be downloaded or something. Anybody here a fan too?
