  1. I just got a new video card the x800xt and it came with av to svideo connections. My somwhat old video camera only has av connections so I figured I try it out so I hooked both up together but im stuck on what to do next.

I thought I could just plug them in and load up the windows movie maker program and choose somthing like detect my camera and play whats on my camera and record what I want. But theres nothing like that from what I see.

Is there any program I can use to do what im trying to do thats maybe free or cheap?

    Please help, thanks

    Hello,
Does your input card have its own software suite? I have the wintv pvr250 card and it has its own recording software. Can your card record into avi? If so just about any freebie software like virtual dub should handle your card. If it's a mpeg encoder like the hauppauge wintv you'll have to use its oem software. Good luck, hope this helps.
