Somewhere on one of the forums I read where someone used MMC with an AverMedia Studio card with great success. Have anyone else tried this? What 'version' of MMC? Reason I'm asking is I'm just starting to fiddle with capture. I've done some tests using the SW that came with the card and true to post seen here it wasn't impressive. Another question is, do I have to install the bundled SW in order to use third party programs. I tried one, AviSynth or VirtDub, and it would only work if I had the AverMedia VCR funtion up. So if I installed MMC would I have the same problem?

I think you've misread something. As far as I know, what ATI has said, and from my own experiments, MMC is only for ATI cards.
