DVD to DIVX conversions wont play on pc any more

Can someone please help. I had been making very good high resolution dvd to avi conversions using Easydivx. However, I decided to try out Dr. Divx trial for converting tv mpegs, but couldnt get good result. Unfortunately since downloading this trial, everything has gone wrong, ie. my conversions freeze up the divx player/computer, and on Windows MP and Realplayer, the audio has slowed down noticeably and obviously the audio is out of sync. I checked and converted one of my avi's back to dvd to make sure users are not uploading rubbish from me and it was fine, so it is purely something to do with playback on my computer. My conversions using Magic Ripper (but not such good quality) all play fine on all players within pc. I have tried re-installing Easy divx, also got rid of Divx Pro 5.1 and got the old 5.1.1 back as before, but nothing works. I did notice when using G-Spot on a downloaded file which converted fine, it said DivXMpeg-4 DVD Compressor misconfigured, then File Missing c:\windows\system32\divx_c32ax" I dont know if this is a big problem or how it went missing. Would appreciate any uncomplicated suggestions being a very new newbie to all this.

I suggest that you will need to remove all codecs and then re-install from scratch. This is often the case when such a situation as you describe is met.
