  1. This site has become HuGe, and yes, I looked inder DVD players

SOoo, perhaps I can get someone in here that has a straight RV DVD player, that will read DVD-R media -Movie backups, my originals were stolen.

    I use a Lite-On 811S burner and Rietek - R media.

Bought an al cheapo Apex 1200 yesterday, but all I get is a blue screen on the TV, but the sound is there. I put an original DVD in, that my Son still had X-Men and zero. Took 20" to get the blasted tray to even work.

Ideas, please -Used to have the XBOX setup (Stolen as well) and that played everything, may be forced to buy another one.

    Thanks IA.

  2. Sounds like you have a lemon. Nearly all new DVD players can handle multiple media formats. Most entry level major name brand (Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Pioneer, etc.) progressive scan units are well under $100 these days and getting more inexpensive every day. You can pick up "open box" deals frequently at Best Buy and Circuit City and they have a liberal return policy if you are not satisfied. Dealtime and other shopping search engines are great for online deals. Try eCost.com - they have some great bargains. Then there's always eBay... you can get a recent pre-owned or refurb DVD player dirt cheap at auction sometimes.

  3. Well, against better judgement - As the price was only $38, I fixed the tray, it was a weak spring -The blue screen was a poor connect from the Apex 1200 --Solder fixed that.

Ok, can't expect miricles for a few bucks, but the 'Lemon' now performs as advertized! Though it is a wee bit slow kicking off from 1st base {getting started}.

Thanks for your reply though Shelley
