  1. I have a Yamaha home theatre system that has worked quite well for me. Recently bought cartoon type DVD for my son. It played on Bose theatre system on display in the store and it has played on my PC. However, when I put it in my home theatre system there is no audio.

Any suggestions on how I can fix problem?

did you hit the audio button on your dvd remote? maybe it is DTS audio. if thats the case, you need to have a dts receiver to play the sound

Maybe it uses mpeg audio, which is only technically supported on PAL players. That is definitely the type of thing that would play on your pc but not your dvd player.

You can check easily. Get dvd decryptor and set it to IFO mode. Enable stream processing and go to the stream processing tab. It should list the type of audio used. If its something that your dvd player doesn't support, well you'd either have to get a new player or reauthor the disk and encode the audio to AC3.
