I have a copy of bulletproof monk ripped into a format to burn. I tried burning it on two different types of media (neither of which I have had trouble with Princo and Kingston (-Rs)). I also used Stomp and Nero. Both started to record fine, but both burned and failed at the end. Any suggestions??
Also, I have a rip that someone upped to me that is smaller than the Bulletproof monk files and it tells me the files are too big for the disk in stomp and won't even start recording. Any suggestions here?? Thanks in advance!

I found Sefy's guide the best
DVDDecypter for ripping
InstantCopy 7 for adjusting video size and burning.
I understand that this method is one of the slowest but it is always first rate for quality and you get to keep everything on the disc.
Thanks -
Thanks for the fast response, but I don't think the one disk is too big to fit on the disk, it just tells me it is. As for the other movie, it is/has been ripped into ifos and vobs and should be just ready to drop onto a dvr. When I try to burn the latter with either nero or stomp RNM, it'll burn to near completion and just won't finish. When I try to burn the first one, it tells me that the amount of data is too big for the disk. It is less than the second movie, so it shouldn't be too big. I could try reencoding, but I don't think I should have to. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

My method is to rip the entire disc with DVDDecrypter, then load into InstanCopy. I then go into each title and remove ALL subtitle files and ALL audio that is not English (keep ALL English audio) I then turn down the quality of each video that is not the main movie. I then go back to the main movie and turn up the quality slider until the bar goes red, and then turn back a touch until it goes green again, click start to transcode. I have used this method with the main movies as low as 50% of it's original quality, and you would have to have a real keen eye to notice a downgrade in veiwing quality. As for you other problem (Nero etc) I am afraid I cannot help you there as I very rarely use that method. You could try re-installing Nero, updating the ASPI layer, and make sure that the lens in the burner is clean. How old is the burner? Have you done much burning?
Hope some of this helps

I burned another disk after this problem happened, so I know it is not the burner, or at least 99% sure. I will probably update the firmware as I see that the sony dru510a has updated to 1.0d. I am only at c. It could be the aspi layer, but would another disk burn in that case??

Why not try with a DVDRW media first ?
