  1. This is my first time here, so I hope I will be getting good responses or opinions from people. I just purchased a new Panasonic DMR-E75V DVD recorder/VCR combo. My local electronic store, Fry's Electronics, has it in stock for $449.99, but I bought it in eBay for less for $424. The DMR-E75V is the first and only Made in Japan DVD/VCR combo out there in the market, and it is the first DVD recorder/VCR combo from Panasonic. Can anyone tell me how good is the performance of the DMR-E75V? Anybody out there owns a DMR-E75V? This unit only records DVD-R and DVD-RAM discs. How good is the picture quality in Panasonic DVD recorder? Also, how good is the VCR performance in Panasonic DMR-E75V? Thanks for your help.

    Walter,

If the DVD recorder portion is similar to my DMR-E50, it should amaze you with its quality. It amazed me and at the time I had bought it I already had 2 years of intensive PC video capturing under my belt.

  3. I notice that my DMR-E75V uses a second-generation DVD-RAM chassis. The DMR-E50 that you have here is the first-generation DVD-RAM chassis. For some reason, I seem to prefer the first-generation chassis because the tray loads out faster than the new one, and it feels more durable than the new one.
