Encoding 59.94 fps in TMPGEnc to get 29.97 interlaced.

I've done a few captures with ATI AIW from some very bad sources and the interlace sequence is inconsistent.

If i used BOB deinterlace (saw this at 100fps.com) with AviSynth to serve to TMPGEnc would it use every other frame for the second field. Maybe it would just throw away every second frame.

If i disabled the AVI readers in the VFAPI tab would it play through TMPGEnc as Broadcast?

Should i just forget it and make everything progressive from such a crappy source?
