  1. For some reason Toast 6 won't accept my MPEG2 streams into the video tab anymore, even though it worked in the past. Before, when I dragged an MPEG2 stream into the video tab, it would prompt me to find the corresponding audio stream. Then I could author a DVD without re-encoding all the video (which would take forever).

Now when I drag across the MPEG2 video stream, it doesn't prompt me to find the audio stream. What's up? Anyone else had this problem? It seems like Toast isn't willing to accept the MPEG2 streams now without wanted to completely re-encode them. I've tried dragging the video, option-dragging, etc.

If the audio is in the same folder as the video and they have similar names, Toast automatically adds the audio track.

What version of Toast 6 do you have? The re-encoding of existing MPEG 2 video was a problem with 6.0.0 that was fixed in 6.0.3 or later.

  3. I have Toast 6.0.3. I think the problem is that Toast doesn't like the MPEG2 streams I created with FFMPEGX, though it accepts the streams I make with MPEG2WORKSX, which unfortunately take twice as long to encode on my 400MHZ G4 (10-12 hours for a forty minute DIVX avi).

You could use Toast to encode the .AVI's (after using DivX Doctor).
