Confused about XSVCD bitrate on Pioneer DV-535

The compability list says that this player supports up to 2500kbits XSVCD why is this value lower then SVCD standard 2600kbit?
Am i wrong to think that the XVSCD in the list is the same thing as XSVCD ? If it's not the same, what is XVSCD ?
I'm greatfull for all the help i can get.

unfortunatly it is, u cannot use SVCD that goes to 2600, but i wouldnt worry to much, if it does itll just stutter a little, its VBR, so it wont really stay like that. as far as creation just make 2500 the max.

they don't officially support the SVCD spec on their players. in fact, if you call tech support and ask about it, they will usually tell you they don't make and SVCD-compatible players. the players "just happen" to play SVCD discs < 2500kbps.

also, in relation to SVCD vs XSVCD, XSVCD is any non-SVCD compliant but SVCD-structured disc. reasons for noncompliance can include the following (non-exhaustive) list:

higher than 2600 bitrate
any higher than 480x480 resolution (NTSC)
any lower nonsupported resolution (176x144, 640x240, 360x480, etc)
mpeg-1 clips

Thanx for your replies guys. Does it go up to 2500kbps video. Or do i have to include audio in this number too?
Like if i want 192kbps sound, do i have to choose a lower bitrate then?
