PC to DVcam VIA Firewire

Hey all.

How can I get my edited masterpiece off my camera and back onto my MiniDV cam.

I've been able to set my cam to await a signal (DVin), but I'm trying to figure out how to play it on my PC (DVout) for my camera to record it. I wish I could just use premiere to control the camera for this one...

If it was back to back (cam to cam) I could just press play on the master and record on the slave... I can't seem to find the info I need to use the PC as the master.

Thanks.. .Please help I have to submit my film for a festival in 3 days and they said they'll need it on a tape.

If your masterpiece is currently in DV-AVI format then many editing apps will output to your DV camcorder. If yours doesn't, then just download WinDV . I'm 99% sure it does this very easily. It's a very quick download (small app) and it's FREE.

If you're masterpiece hasn't been "rendered" to DV-AVI then use the "make movie" or "Save as" output functions of your editing program to get it into that format.

You should be able to do this quite easily. if you run into another problem just post more details here and I'm sure someone here can get it straightened out.

windv does this very easily. when you run it there are 2 options: capturing from dv device and copying to dv device. pick what you want to play with windv and get your camera ready to record.
