My standard answer for downloaded/lq material:

If the video is available for retail, you should buy it. No worries about crappy burns, conversions or play issues, and you get extras, packaging, etc.

  3. It is unfortunately true that when you download any of those video files you never know what you are getting. Remember gigo, you've probably got an unusable file. Nyah Levi

Hey Supreme2K (and to a certain degree, Nelson133) the guy never said anything once about downloading a damn thing. He came to this site for some help converting an mpeg2 file that he thinks may be SVCD format. Why post if you're just going to lecture the guy about something you've ASSUMED that he has done.

    Sasarchiver, here's a few solutions:

1.) You can get filters for TMPGenc (look in the tools section of this site) to read mpeg2 files. I've always found these sketchy at best.

2.) What I always do is frame serve using VirtualDub Mpeg2 mod. Install Vdub, go to the auxilary setup in the main Vdub folder and run "install frameserver client". Im not going to go into how its done, again search the site for tutorials.
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--

  6. hey caseycomb, i got it to work mate thank you. It was actually on another post, strip down to a d2v and a mpa file with dvd2avi and then use tmpgenc. It works a treat, thanks again...SasArchiver
