I am hopefully getting a capture card soon, to link my hi-8 camera to my computor. My camera records with good quality and good sound (all-though it is 10years old). Anyway, my question is, when i use the capture card will the quality suddenly drop? If it does, would i be able to re-gain the quality? And also, how much money (£) would i need to buy a reasonable card?
Thanks alot for helping, and i hope i didnt make a fool of myself (AMATURE!)

How does the output to the TV look? If you also have a time based corrector, it can help keep you captures clean before sending it to your capture card.
