  1. Forgive me that this post in NOT in the ripping section, but this one has the attention of the folks who use desktop recorders like me. I also posted this at Liteon's forum:

Because video recorded in +VR mode doesn't have navigational data in the stream, I can't time seek it. When I rip a title with Decryptor in IFO mode, I can re-author and all works well. This method is fine, but I end up having to do this manually for each title (up to 6 per disk) which consumes a lot of time.

If I only have one title on disk, I can use DVD-Shrink in re-author mode, and that works great as well. If I have 2 or more on disk, DVD-Shrink doesn't even recognize the disk at all.

Are there some scripts or something that can be written for Decryptor which will help me to automate the ripping process in IFO mode, so that I can extract / rename all the titles at once, rather than monitor the PC for each title to complete so I can start another?

Smartripper appears to work the same as Decryptor. I bought DVD Movie Factory 3. With that product, when you put in a non-DVD standard to copy, it gives you the option of making the destination DVD-Video. Unfortunately, where this works great for DVD-VR disks, I can't say the same for DVD+VR from the LiteOn. Maybe it's the audio encoding (not LPCM or DD)

    Any ideas are welcome.

    Thanks,
    TJD

I doubt it, but good luck. Hope you find what you want.
The LiteOn 5001 with custom cooling and then DVD Decrypter extraction do well for me, though it does take time.

I have the same problem with my Daytek P30 (LiteOn LVW5001) and Philips DVDR75, at first.

I upgraded my DVDR75 firmware last Saturday and the problem is solved as long as I sequentially put Titles (menus) on the +RW disc. DVD shrink will not be able to open the +RW disc .ifo file if the menu navigation jumps back and forth.

For the LVW5001, I think it needs a firmware upgrade but I noticed/felt that LVW5001 writes .ifo on +RWs different from DVDR75. Philips DVDR75 cannot edit +RW Titles (menu) from Daytek whereas Daytek has no editing feature at all.

I am now happier with DVDR75.
