  1. I have an Xvid avi but i am unable to hear the sound track on any sort of media player (WMP, Nero Showtime, DivX Player and PowerDVD). I've checked the file with GSpot and its states the audio track is AC3 and that 3 compatible codecs are installed. I've tried Virtual dub to see if I can save the audio as a wav file but it states that no audio decompressor could be found even though the Xvid mpeg decoder was installed (1.0.09).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just to be safe, install the ac3 filter. If you still want to decompress to wav with Virtualdub, install the AC3 ACM Decompressor too.
