I have a PJ concert that is in 5.1 DTS wav format. (after converting from .shn format to 5.1 Wav using dbpoweramp) When I try to burn an "Audio" CD with Nero (Suite 6.3.1.10) it gives me an "unsupported' format error and will not load the files for burning. (I also have a 2 channel version that burns fine) I cant not get past the load file part...

Can I bun 5.1 DTS 16bit wav files to CD and have my DVD/CD player play them? I expect I can, and that the receiver will decode the DTS.

Or do I need to instead convert them to 24bit DVD format? (and then burn to DVD)

    Thanks for your help!

  2. This has nothing to do with 24-bit. Very few players if any would play a 6-ch wav file. Instead, you should author a basic DVD with a still image as video track and the original DTS sound. That's guaranteed to work on almost any DVD player.

Actually, it does work on CDR.

Using dbpoweramp....I set all settings to "as source" (Bit, Freq, Channel) and converted the .shn's to .wav. Nero was cool. Burnt both CD's. (@16x Rytech 48x printables) Stuck into my DVD player, it recognized the DTS and played just fine. Very cool too! It's PJ Concert from '00 in Cincinatti.

    Thanks anyways!
