    I'm sure this has been discussed here many times, but I was unable to find a solution for it after searching the forums. I've tried a few different programs and this one is my favorite, however as many of you know, Instant Copy has a problem where the size of the image it outputs is usually way off. Mine often come out around 4 gigs, this to me ruins an otherwise great program. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Which version are you running? Have you got the latest update? I have IC 7, which I've had for over 1.5 years now. Originally, I had the same problem you had but when I updated it to 7.0.3.140 (May 2003) it went away. For example, the last two backups I did were LOTR Return of the King (WS Movie and Special Features) discs. They came out at 4,643,484,001 (4.32GB) and 4,640,448,865 (4.32GB).

    I've got version 8 which only has one update, which I also have. Updates to 8.005 i think. I used to have 7 as well and didn't have the problem then, but I thought surely 8 should be a better product, not really sure about that now. It seems to work great except for the sizing issue, but I also noticed last night that some of the DVDs made won't work on the DVD playing software on my PC.

    In my opinion IC8 sucks...I still use IC7.

    But to answer your question, to find an accurate file size you need to add the file sizes up by hand.

    444,333,222,111

    4's = GB
    3's = MB
    2's = KB
    1's = bytes

    So
    43.46 MB = 43,460,000 bytes
    3.21 GB = 3,210,000,000 bytes

    Anyway, add all the encoded files sizes up by hand then divide the final result by 1024, then by 1024, then by 1024 and the decimal on your calculator is the accurate file size that IC8 will output.

    DON'T forget to add you menu sizes also!!!! It's been a while since I have used IC7 but I think a slider bar of 4.35 GB is usually pretty close to the correct size...but I always add them by hand anyway, because Pinnacle sucks.
