I have an DVDR Image file that i want to burn in NEro but when i press DVD Video in NEro it tells me that the file is not compliant. When I press DVD (ISO) in NEro the file is recognized. Is the ISO method the correct way to burn an image from a DVDR?

Let me see if I understand your question correctly. You have an ISO image of a DVD. You want to burn that image in Nero. If this is what you want to do, then follow these instructions. I am assuming you have Nero 6.
1. Open Nero
2. When the New Compilation window opens, click cancel.
3. From the menu, go to "Recorder"
4. Select "Burn Image"
5. Make sure the file type is selected as "Image type (*.nrg, *.iso, *.cue)"
6. Select the .iso file you want to burn.
7. Select burn speed.
8. Start burning.
Good luck.
