nope, i still cant figure out what dumbass built a city in the middle of a freakin desert. oh well, dumbass people like me gotta live there right? i lived in phx for 7 yrs, the heat doesnt bother me. its when it drops below 50 degrees brrrrr (*f for all you people that use the correct system)

Everything is electronic now. Attendance, communications all come through email. Every teacher has a computer at their finger tips at any given time. Actually I should say...some of us have computers...others have MACs

This is the end of the year and the attendance is scarce. Several field trips are out, today is the senior's last day, reviewing for exams, etc. It's really a slow time of year...if you have planned right and aren't trying to cram stuff into them the last week of school.

But to answer your question, yes I do have a CPU sitting right on my desk.

When I laugh at something of course they notice but when they ask "what are you laughing at?" I say "Oh...I'm sorry, I was just looking at your grade." or if I'm in a bad mood I will say something like "well can we at least agree that whatever I am laughing at is none of your business."....the responses are varied. Depends on the kid, the class, and what I can say without them being offended

Our class periods are 50 minutes long. 5 minutes between classes. I try to spend about 30 minutes each period actually teaching, then I give them 20 minutes in class to do their homework...that way if they have questions they can ask and I don't hear the "I tried it but I didn't understand it" excuse.

I know you guys might find this hard to believe...but I can be a bit of an *******, I'm not one way at one time and a different way another. I am the way I am 100% of the time. I send a paper home with the students that they must have their parents sign, phone number and date. That lists my home phone number, my cell phone number, my email addresses, my MSN screen name, and AOL screen name, and states that if any student is having any problems or questions with any homework assignment they can feel free to call me or email me and if they have MSN or AOL I can help them in a real time chat. And that I check the email every night around 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Do they ever take advantage of it? No. But after that they have no excuses.
