Yesturday at work we had a series of photoshop battles. I thought ya'll may want to try something like that here, maybe. You have to create the images from scratch, not using any other images or tutorials. Here were my entires.

so my two questions...
- what should we model?
- are we restricted to only Photoshop (or comparable bitmap editors, eg. Gimp, PSP, etc..) or can we use vector graphics / 3D progs as well?- housepig

So image editing software. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc.
Not 3D modeling software as most folks either don't use it and don't have access to it. Besides, if you are efficient with PS then you can make 3D pictures...it's just a matter of perspective, light and shading. -

PRO E you say...hmmmm, I'm going to have to check it out. I've been looking for CAD software that would let me do some mathematical modeling fairly easy but yet accurately. Mostly physics type stuff with acceleration of gravity and frictions and such things, that I could use in a classroom. -

Seeing that there is some interest in this I'll host the psd files. Tomarrow I'll post a link to the psd for the movie reel.

Solid Works is a pretty good alternative to Pro Engineer, we use both packages here. If I get chance I will post one of my models tomorrow.

Not actually an official entry...but I was screwing around for a bit this evening.
This was from an old tutorial that I did when I was trying to figure out 3D, I'm a little better at 3D now and I made some changes on it...obviously -
