  4. I would forget about the Sonic thermal printables. I tried a 50 pk for $18, and they would burn successfully in my Pioneer 107 at all speeds, but would always studder during playback due to bad burn areas. The Sonic 2x bulk media is much better, and work suprisingly well for LONGTEN media, but they are currently out of stock, $38 a hundred-

  5. If you look at Prodisc 4X for $55 at Rima I would have to say that the extra $17 would be money well spent. I have seen some really erratic results from Sonic.

  6. Just a quick question about these Sonic DVD-Rs... I see from what has been said in the forum they probably wouldn't be good for playback in standalone players, but would they be useful at all in just backing up data and such on my computer? I realize that I would have to buy some more expensive discs for movies, but was just curious if I could just buy some of these cheaper discs for stuff for my computer. Sorry if this has been asked before.

  7. I really have to believe on these that you get what you pay for. I also know that Shop4tech edits there user comments so that you will not always see all the problems others are having. THe comments on the media tab to the left mention a lot of erratic results and 50% failure. Why waste your money, life is to short to go through all that work and only be 50% sure of your results.

  9. Well I finally deceided to order a 100 pack of "GreatAZO 4X DVD-R 4.7GB" media for $45 from here. http://store.yahoo.com/meritline/azo-dye-dvd-r-4x-media-bulk.html

So far I love them and they burn at 4X on my pioneer 105 burner and play just fine on the three players I have at home.

Princo's gotten quite expensive lately. In fact I think its cost per disc is around prodisc's prices.

  12. With Prodisc 4x Grade A at $45 per 100 there just seems to be no point in trying cheaper no-name media. Just asking for grief if you ask me.
