Extract still frames from mpg movie

Hello,

I have an mpg movie that runs fine and i'd like to extract some still frames from it.

I have tried using divxplayer and making a screenshot but when I paste the result in irfanview and save the file all I get is a black picture.

Open the movie with Virtualdubmod, go to the video menu and select "snapshot source frame". Obviously you'll need to adjust the playback slider to find your desired frame first.

WinDVD and PowerDVD both can capture. The quality of WinDVD stills to me seems a bit better than PowerDVD, but both do a good job of it.
