When I am capturing from my camara the computer accepts data for about 10 mins and then converts the data. After it is done converting the data the computer gives me an error message that the captured data exeeds the capacity of the HDD. I have approximately 30 G of available space. Is this enough space?
I am using a Sony mini dv camera recorder. I am using Imagemixer ver. 1.5 forn Sony to capture the video.
Thanks for any help.

I assume you are doing a "capture" via the FIREWIRE connection ... also known as IEEE 1394 as well as i.link
This should create a DV AVI file on your HDD that is approximately 13GB per hour.
So it sounds like you have enough space.
Maybe you could give us more details as to EXACTLY how you are doing it.

P.S.
Are you using the NTFS file system? This is available if you use WinXP and I think also Windows 2000"The eyes are the first thing that you have to destroy ... because they have seen too many bad things" - Lucio Fulci

Don't transfer the videos using USB, that will only give you shit quality. Use the iLink/Firewire transfer only.
Do check whether you're using FAT32 or NTFS. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4 GB (or was it 2 GB?), and this could be causing your errors. -

@ELM3420
Like we both said you need to use FIREWIRE transfer.
