  1. I am still somewhat new in the DVD recording ranks so please bare with me. I have the Sony RDR GX7 and I like the DVD VR mode for some of its cool features. I have a HP computer that has DVD+R/RW rom and burner drives. When the DVD VR mode disc is finalized it is playable in the computers burner drive. So what is the simpliest way to get the video to the computer so I can copy it and burn it to a +R. That way I can make a copy or two for the family members I want and be playable on their DVD players (hopefully). If there is any step by step instructions on this just drop me a link or maybe drop me some easy instuctions. That would really help.

PS By the way, I have burned two projects to DVD so far. I have played with video cature via fire wire and by video tape. I have experimented with the computer add on graphics like chapters and a mp3 or two. I use the ECCD Creator 6 DVD builder program and it is pretty cool. The one wierd thing is that after the DVD burns, everything is okay, but there has been one flaw on both discs. If you look at the burned portion on the disc it has a blank ring in the burn area. So, I imagine when it gets to that point the video freezes. What could cause this error in burning? Could screensavers that pop on after a certain time have an effect? Burner problem? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Nothing worse the wasted DVD blank media. I just want to get it right.

You should figure out what your specific problem is and then post a specific question.

Try TMPGEnc DVD Author for creating standard DVD out of DVD-VR. It can import tracks from the VR, trim them, and then add chapters and menus if required. Very reliable yet easy to use - you won't even need a step-by-step manual.
