  1. Hi All,

I'm a new poster, but have been reading the forum for some time. I did a thorough search looking for an answer to this with no luck - hope someone can help!

I created a DV quality non compressed Quicktime .mov file using Quicktime on the Mac, and then converted it to an MPEG1 using Compressor 1.2. The problem is the resulting file does not include any metadata containing the filename, creation date etc... I'm wondering if anyone knows how to add such information?

In general, I'm confused about where this information is stored. I know that annotations can be added in Quicktime, but as I understand it, that's different than metadata... Metadata is stored in the header, and applications (such as my Palm handheld) can read this information and tell me stuff like file size, creator, creation date, system type the file was created on.

Any assistance appreciated! I have a bunch of files that routinely show up as "???" or simply have no information about their contents.

    Regards,
    -Dan
