  1. I'm trying out the Main Concept encoder for the first time. I installed it and messed around a bit then suddenly noticed that any streaming MPEG video I click on the net causes WMP9 to crash. MPEGs on the hard drive play fine. Uninstalling Main Concept Encoder fixes the problem. I'm thinking it must be conflicting with the MPEG2 codec from Power DVD on my system. Anyone run into this and know how to fix it?

i'd try uninstalling powerDVD and mainconcept. then install mainconcept, and THEN install powerDVD.

if that fails, install both then stick on another mpeg 2 codec.

I have both loaded on XP Pro with no issues. Very strange.

I had MC loaded long before PowerDVD. Wonder if there is a lingering DLL that needs to be manually removed before resinstalling in the right order.

  7. I have all 3, as well as MANY other video/audio apps (Sony, Canon, etc) for capture on my system, and never had a problem.

  8. Think I found a fix. I used K-lite to install just the Mainconcept/Mainconcept MPEG2 Codec. then I uninstalled K-lite and now streaming video works fine again and MC Encoder still works fine.
